The Location: Forest Calm, Close to the Slopes

A short 1km drive from the Hirafu ski lifts, Yuki Drift occupies an enviable position perfect for both ski holidays and summer adventures. Set in the Drift Niseko private estate in the Kabayama forest, the chalet is close enough to the mountain that early risers could be rewarded with first tracks or an early summer hike. It’s also secluded enough that nature sets the mood, with forest views available in every room.
You’re not out in the woods here as dining venues are within easy reach. Just 210m away from the chalet is Gentemstick Niseko, a local snowsurf shop and café — equally great for coffee breaks or an impulse (or deliberate) decision to get another snowboard. The Elements restaurant and bar is 220m in the other direction for relaxed après-ski meals.
Just a little further is La Villa Lupicia (450m from the chalet), one of Niseko’s best-loved dining rooms that highlights Hokkaido produce within a cosy cabin setting. Hit up Hirafu Village when you feel like it, with the chalet being just a short drive to Niseko’s top restaurants and bars, along with the Seicomart and Lawson’s convenience stores.
The Eat List: Must-visit restaurants, bars and cafes in Niseko to save for your next trip.
The Design: A Modern Hideaway with an Onsen
Step inside and the cedar wood announces itself immediately — a soothing scent that manages to bring an immediate sense of calm. You’re greeted by a minimalist stone garden by the sleek staircase, then turn left to discover what will soon become everyone’s favourite space: the onsen. Enjoy soaking in natural hot spring water, set to ease muscles after a fun ski day.

On the second floor, the scale widens with a generous living room, spacious dining area and an open kitchen. Leather sofas face floor-to-ceiling windows looking into the forest, while Yoshitomo Nara artworks add a playful touch.

The kitchen is fully equipped for a group that intends to use it seriously. A breakfast island, high-end Miele appliances, and enough counter space for there to have multiple cooks (though that comes with its own hurdles).
The Amenities: Made for Family Holidays and Group Travel

Six bedrooms, sleeping up to 14, all with restful forest views; and a Smart TV each in most rooms. The five principal bedrooms are spacious, and the bunk room can accommodate up to four close friends or siblings and has its own ensuite bathroom.
The three ground-floor bedrooms sit in closest proximity to the private onsen, which, after a full day on the mountain, is essentially non-negotiable. Two bedrooms and a bunk room on the second floor enjoy an elevated view, which provides a different kind of reward. The upper-floor primary bedroom additionally has its bathtub in an ensuite bathroom; one of the lower-floor bedrooms also features a bathtub.

Located next to the entryway and indoor garage, the ski storage comes with racks and heated boot hangers to keep your gear in top shape. The laundry room handles a week’s worth of ski kit without complaint with a washing machine and a dryer.
