Summer in Hokkaido is Japan’s best-kept secret — here’s what’s in store when you go.
Ahhhh… summer in Japan. The searing heat and extreme humidity in places like Tokyo and Kyoto make this season a sticky one to say the least. In fact, clued-in travellers purposely avoid visiting Japan in the summer and plan their trips during cherry blossom season or when the autumn foliage comes through.
At WanderLuxe, we’re of a different mindset — it all depends on where you go. If you head north to Hokkaido, you can enjoy a coolcation (aka cool climate vacation) and lots of amazing outdoor activities.
