The Location: Natural Beauty at Taro Village
The Istana Suite is nestled in the beautiful Taro Village, a stunning location renowned for its spiritual significance and is situated in the geographical centre of Bali. A 30-minute drive to the foothills of Ubud, it offers a secluded gateway to the region’s natural beauty.
Situated within a private estate, the 225sqm sanctuary enjoys a serene, secluded setting and is able to accommodate up to two adults and four children; additional beds can be made available upon request.
Adventure seekers and nature lovers will love having proximity to the jungle, where you can wander along lush tropical paths and admire waterfalls. A complimentary one-time return airport transfer is included in the room rate. For a comprehensive experience, we recommend using Estate’s private car, available at an additional charge.
The Design: Modern Tropical Style
Istana, which means “palace” in Indonesian, embodies the regal quality of its namesake. Housed within a modern Joglo-style structure, the Istana Suite features an antique Javanese carved ceiling, billowing gossamer curtains, carefully chosen furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows, creating an atmosphere of effortless elegance. Persian rugs are strategically placed to section the areas for lounging, writing and relaxation.
Placed on a raised platform, the stately king-size bed is the centrepiece of the suite and is surrounded by soft curtains. The huge ensuite bathroom is just as impressive and has a tranquil spa-like setting; flower petals, optional. It houses an imposing stone bathtub set in a pond, and accompanied by two large rain showers and separate vanity areas.
Great for both a couple’s secret getaway, the Istana Suite features interiors designed to encourage natural ventilation; the suite can also be enclosed when air-conditioning is preferred.

Did we mention that this suite has its own private 10m-long pool? Accessible from the ensuite bathroom, the pool also features daybeds made for lounging — making it easy to get that sun-kissed holiday glow.
