See as dogs do with Google Japan’s dog-eye view

When we’re not daydreaming of places like Japan, there’s a good chance we’re thinking about dogs. Now the two have come together and the best part is, you can experience digital travel from behind a screen. Scratch that, it’s always better to travel in person!

For now though, procrastinate just a little longer and virtually venture to the snowy north of Japan. Google Street View enlisted the help of Ako and Asuka, Akita dogs native to the mountainous region of Japan, Akita and Odate, to give us a dog’s perspective of the city. Wearing tiny cameras on their dog-friendly harnesses, the pair patter through the snow, showing us the famous statue of Hachiko, a hot spring footbath at the Otaki Onsen Tsuru, and the Akita Dog Museum.

You’ll have to click around to move locations, which could easily look like you’re working hard…
